17 October 2011 Congratulations to all the runners in yesterdays Cardiff
half marathon!
8 October 2011 Mark has just finished a series of running workshops in
Run and Become in Cardiff in the run up to the Cardiff half marathon.
Mark was joined by Personal Trainer John Bruno and Physiotherapist
Karen Pearce to provide advice to the half marathon runners on running
injuries, run technique, nutrition, mind focus and general run training
advice.
22 August 2011 Mark represented Great Britain yesterday at the European
Long Distance Triathlon Champs in Finland. Mark raced well and came
11th in his age group, an excellent result!
4 July 2011 Delme provided sports massage at the Youth & GB
triathlon champs at Porthcawl on Sunday. He was a busy man, with the
young guns taking advantage of the pre & post event sports massage.
28 March 2011 Mark raced the Pembrokeshire duathlon yesterday and
managed to crack the top 10 with a great 9th place! Well done!
11 February
2011 Yesterday Mark attended a running coaching clinic to train
existing running coaches new skills and techniques inline with the
Newton running company's philosophy of Natural Running. It was the
first clinic of this type to be held outside of the USA. Mark was lucky
enough to pass and is now only 1 of 12 Newton Natural Running Form
coaches in the UK. Mark will now add those new skills & techniques
to south Wales and incorporate them into our own hugely successful
Learn To Run workshops.
Sports
massage tends to be a
deeper and more intense form of massage.
It is based on the various elements of Swedish massage and often
incorporates a combination of other techniques involving stretching,
compression, friction, toning, and trigger point response techniques
similar to Acupressure and Shiatsu. The skilled therapist brings
together this blend of techniques, knowledge and advice during
treatment, to work effectively with the client to bring about optimum
performance and to provide injury-free training and minimise post event
injuries.
The benefits of Sports Massage
are many, some of the benefits include:
Improve
circulation & lymphatic flow
Assist
in the removal of metabolic waste
Sedate
or stimulate nerve endings
Increase
or decrease muscle tone
Increase
or decrease muscle length
Remodel
scar tissue when required
Assist
in mental preparation for sporting participation
